Beachcraft 1900 Twin Turboprop Airliner (19 passenger):
The Beechcraft 1900 is one of Beech's airliners using two large JT-6
turboprops. This model is my first attempt at using all "components"
and individual parts for the major assemblies. There is still the
occasional bleed-through problem, but it looks pretty nice and
has a very nice flight model.
This rendition includes strobes, navigation lights, landing lights
(which are activated when the flaps are extended), winshield
wipers, and a stairway that folds down after the engines are turned off
and the prop stops turning. Thanks to the "Cyber Air" uploads for
those great ideas!
This aircraft is painted in the colors of Continental Airlines, mainly
because I didn't have any from that airline in my collection! While
I don't think they used this aircraft on a regular basis, it is likely
that they had one in their crew training program (many airlines use
the large Beechcraft King Air 350s etc in their training programs).
Oh well, anything is possible in the FS world, and you have the pcx
files here so you can repaint it to whatever you wish...
Hope you enjoy this! Copy the b1900con.air file to your \fltsim5\pilots
subdirectory and the b1900con.?af files to your \fltsim5\texture
subdirectory.
You can enjoy this aircraft (and all of your others) MUCH more if you
are using a custom panel and sounds for the simulation. I like to use
the "Airliner" panels by Tom Main (FSFSPNL1.ZIP) for this and most other
two or four engine prop planes. Other panels by VIP (such as their Beech
Baron model) are also good for this aircraft.
For sounds, all you'll ever need are in SOUNDMGR.ZIP by Serge Baye. Choose
one of the turboprop sounds for your engine, and enjoy!
(Both of the above mentioned files are available in the forum library on
Compuserve where you found this file).
By the way, I always upload all of the files I used to create my models!
Please feel free to modify, paint, change or otherwise mess around with
the files as you wish. If you come up with some nifty new idea or feature,
please upload it so that others like myself may freely enjoy it also.
DO NOT sell this aircraft file, or include them in any collection of
files for sale UNLESS you get permission from the author
(myself)!
Happy flying . . .
John Chambers
